General Members
General Members will have access to research sessions as well as materials and will be able to view flagship events such as SUSS Invest Presentation Day and will have the opportunity to take part in Project Fiesta and Portfolio Management Challenge.
Executives
The backbone of the organisation, our executives in the strategic development department engage in marketing efforts, events planning and execution as well as membership management.
Analysts
Global Macro Analysts willl learn to perform industry research and analyse macroeconomic factors and geopolitical climates to provide fund recommendations.

Equity Research Analysts will learn to perform company and industry research, financial and ESG analysis, financial modelling and equity valuation to initiate a buy or sell call on a stock.
Mentorship will be provided to supplement growth and learning in the organisation.

What are the programs offered by SUSS Invest?SUSS Invest currently offers three forms of membership classification – General Membership, Analyst Programme, and Executive Programme. Analyst Programme is a one-year intensive curriculum that introduces and imparts advanced financial concepts of respective disciplines (Equity Research & Global Macro Research). Executive Programme is a one-year intensive curriculum that introduces and imparts relevant skills in respective disciplines (Events, Marketing & Human Resource). General Members will gain exclusive access to SUSS Invest Weekly Research Sessions and priority access to our Flagship Events.

What is the commitment like in SUSS Investment Group?The workload varies across departments but is generally equivalent to the workload of an additional module. Our analysts will be expected to prepare research reports and conduct pitches, on top of attending our weekly research sessions. Our executives will be expected to be the backbone of SUSS Invest and contribute towards our success through marketing and events management.

How many rounds of recruitment are there?We only open recruitment prior to the start of every semester. There will be two recruitment cycles every academic year, one prior to the start of July semester and another prior to the start of January semester.

Do I have to be from the School of Business or a Finance undergraduate to apply?SUSS Invest is faculty agnostic. Our general members, analysts, and executives are from diverse backgrounds, including majors from Business Analytics, Human Resource, Marketing, etc.

Will I be disadvantaged if I am a first-year undergraduate?No! Our recruitment is open to all students in any year. What we are looking for is commitment and hard work, so feel free to apply if you believe you are a capable candidate.

Will I be able to switch departments after joining a particular department?Yes, you will be able to switch departments. However, please note that you can only switch departments when we open up the recruitment process as you will be required to undergo the recruitment selection process for the respective departments you are applying to.

What is the recruitment process like for the Equity Research department?The recruitment process consists of two rounds. The first round will consist of submitting your resume and an entry test on a list of stocks that will be provided to you when our recruitment opens. The second round will be an online interview with the Heads of Equity Research Department.

What do you look for in a candidate?We understand that not everyone is equipped with the utmost knowledge and skills required prior to joining SUSS Invest. What we are looking for are primarily hardworking and determined candidates that are willing to go the extra mile.

How is the analyst program for the Equity Research department structured?We have a well-structured program where analysts will be required to attend weekly research sessions to equip themselves with the necessary skills, as well as to facilitate discussion amongst other analysts. Analysts are expected to produce a company teaser followed by a full Equity Research Report of another company within a semester (feel free to view our publications on the Research page for sample reports). They will also be required to prepare pitch decks and carry out pitches for the respective companies they are working on.

How heavy is the workload for the Equity Research department?The workload is equivalent to a 5 CU module in SUSS. You will be required to commit a certain number of hours every week.

When are the weekly research sessions held?Our weekly research sessions start every Saturday morning around 10am for about 3 hours. A more specific breakdown of our sessions will be provided once you become an analyst.

How many analysts do you recruit per semester?We recruit based on manpower needs. The Equity Research department is typically lean and does not consist of many analysts. We highly recommend everyone to start applying as soon as possible.

What is the recruitment process like for the Global Macro Research department?The recruitment process consists of two rounds. The first round will consist of submitting your resume, as well as an entry test where you will be asked to answer global macroeconomic questions pertaining to the current economy when our recruitment opens. The second round will consist of an online interview with the Heads of the Global Macro Research Department.

What does the Strategic Development department do?Our strategic development department acts as the backbone of SUSS Invest. As an executive, you will be responsible for a multitude of tasks, ranging from organising and managing our flagship events, helping with photoshoots, graphic design, marketing, content creation, and taking charge of internal communications within SUSS Invest.

Do I need to have investment knowledge to apply for this department?No! You are welcome to join us as an executive as long as you have a passion for events, marketing, or human resources. We are also open to executives joining us and learning more about investing.
